Several hundred people gathered last Friday evening for the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce’s Movies in the Park series at Rocky Point, now in its second year. Featuring the film Happy Feet, the free event follows last year’s successful series of films held in the park’s giant grass field. Local food trucks and vendors provided a sampling of dinners, snacks, beverages and more for patrons to enjoy, while children played in the twilight waiting for the film to begin. Two more movie nights are planned, the next being Minions, scheduled for July 14 at dusk. For more information visit their website at www.

I was there! It was awesome! There was much more room than I thought. The grounds were just mowed and the coffee from that "Presto Strange-o" truck was the best I have ever had. Fantastic night for the hundreds of people that came, and it was free!
Great, great night!
