Roy's day

Saturday was a day for red shirts and red suspenders. Just ask Roy Ellsworth. He knows how to stand out on the golf course. Saturday was the 27th annual Roy’s Day at the Harbor Lights nine-hole Warwick Neck course. There’s no doubt that Roy is the celebrity of the tournament to raise funds for the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center. And there’s little doubt that Roy, who has cerebral palsy but thankfully, to his father’s determination, took up golf, would be the winner. Roy is a fixture at Harbor Lights. The Ellsworths bought a home backing up to the course in the 1970s. Following his parents’ deaths, Roy’s sister, Pat Jankowski, moved in so Roy could continue to play golf and keep his extended Harbor Lights family.
