As they have done for decades on Easter morning, Oakland Beach churches St. Rita and the First Congregational Church joined to hold a 7 a.m. service on the beach where parishioners reenacted the risen Jesus appearing to the disciples as they fished by the Sea of Tiberias. Music was provided by Debbie Puckett and Marcia Beagan on piano and the bell choir of Sandy Ashe, Stefani Capuano and Danielle DeRosa. Pastor Warren Marble of First Congregational and Father Peter D’Ambrosia of St. Rita officiated. Harry Edwards was the narrator. During the service, the children, who played the role of disciples, passed baskets of bread and fish to those lining the seawall. Among those passing the baskets was Lexi Capuano.
