While rumble is all that remains of Christopher Rhodes School, the memories live on and are made all the more tangible by bricks from the school made available by home developer Hugh Fisher. Marc Berman, who attended the school and pinpointed the time capsule that was buried when parents rallied to build a kids’ kingdom playground, stenciled the bricks. Berman got out the word the bricks were available through his Rhodes Facebook page and on Saturday he was joined by Ward 2 Councilman Jeremy Rix to give out more than 100 bricks. He asked for a $5 contribution to go to the RI Community Food Bank. Joining Berman and Rix from left are Dawn Manchester and Deidre Rowles, who both taught at Rhodes, and Dawn’s father, Dan Manchester, who was a member of the first 1st grade class when the school opened in 1954.
