Motorheads know where they can find companionship on summer Tuesday evenings – Oakland Beach Commons, of course, where bay breezes are refreshing and the DJ spins the oldies. The late Kevin Oliver started the Tuesday cruise nights as a means of bringing the community together and, in the process, raising funds to support community causes. For the last several years, the Greater Warwick Lions Club has coordinated the event, collecting $2 for every vehicle on display or selling $15 seasonal passes. The club also raises funds with a 50/50 cash raffle. Next Tuesday, the club will present a $1,000 scholarship to a Toll Gate grad, which was made possible by the cruise nights.
