Dogs and their owners, some in costume, couldn’t have had better weather Saturday for the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter 12th annual dog walk and blessing of the animals at City Park. The event included a costume contest, a choice of walks and an opportunity to purchase crafts from participating vendors. Artist Karen Christine Giles, who does portraits of pets and their owners, was among them. She left her table to meet Animal Shelter dogs up for adoption and quickly found herself among wagging tails and friendly canines. She was wooed by all their attention, but confessed she already has two adopted dogs.
