The Westbay Farm stand on Centerville Road, not far from West Warwick, is now open every Thursday through September from 3 to 6 p.m. The farm, run by Westbay Community Action, that grew more than 20,000 pounds of produce for the Westbay Marketplace last year also sells its naturally grown goodness – no herbicides or artificial fertilizers – to the public. Strawberries, rhubarb, turnips and asparagus are some of the produce available at this time. Finding the stand can be an adventure to those who don’t know the farm. Watch for the signs and drive up the tree-lined dirt road and you’ll find the barn overlooking the field.
