Air Force Veteran Stephen McCarthy, a resident of Warwick and patient of the Providence VA Medical Center, putts with his wife, Bertha, Monday, July 17 at the Button Hole Golf Course in Providence during the golf expo of the VA New England Healthcare System's Summer Sports Clinic, hosted by the Providence VA Medical Center and the Boston VA Health Care System. This was the fifth year McCarthy has participated in the special rehabilitation-related sporting clinic, which runs July 17 through 20 and brought approximately 50 disabled Veterans to Rhode Island for adaptive sporting events including golf, cycling, kayaking, sailing, water skiing and deep sea fishing.
