The Hoxsie Elementary School first grade put on a play this past Thursday thanking people from various professions for the often thankless work that they do which makes our society function properly. "Friendly Neighborhood Helpers" gave students the opportunity to shine from the perspective of various professions, such as post office workers, chefs, firefighters, doctors, dentists, plumbers, vets and garbage disposal workers. They sang funny songs related to the jobs and all donned costumes appropriate to their line of work. It was well attended by family members, who filled the school's gymnasium. Special thanks from Hoxsie principal Gary McCoombs went out to teachers Meredith Andreozzi and Christine Kelliher, who helped organize the performance.
