When King is King

Warwick resident and quahogger Jody King served as Quahog King for the annual New England Quahog Festival held Sunday in Wickford. The event drew groups from across the state for a parade that featured plenty of sea creatures as they walked through the village to the town beach, where there was plenty of food, vendors, music and entertainment. The Quahog King’s jester, Megan DiPrete, accompanied his majesty, who wore a quahog crown and, naturally, carried a mini-quahog rake in place of a trident. A contingent of Shriners also paraded in their mini-vehicles and dressed as clowns. Here Mary Beth Parravano who was a buccaneer for the event and Shriner Lou Clark share a moment before the parade. (Warwick Beacon photos)
