BUT THERE’S NO SIDEWALKS: Sarah Stoves of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce passed out free boxes of sidewalk chalk courtesy of Greenwood Credit Union to kids at the show. As she pointed out, it will give them plenty to do when they get home.

SURE PLACE FOR SIGNATURES: Democratic mayoral candidate Gerald Carbone collected signatures as he talked with people prior to the show. To appear on the ballot, Carbone needs a minimum of 200 signatures from registered Warwick voters.

DINNER AND A PLATE: Sharon and Manny Alves show off the demo Rocky Point license plate that the Rocky Point Foundation is looking to become an official plate once they have secured 600 preorders. Active in Gaspee Days, the Alves have already signed up for a Gaspee plate, but if that doesn’t come to fruition they’ll go for Rocky Point.

There have been bigger crowds but none more amiable as the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce held the first of its Movies in the Park series at Rocky Point with the showing of Rascal Rebel Rabbit. Food trucks, a bay breeze and music until the start of the show made for ideal conditions. Lead sponsor for the show was Wave Federal Credit Union. The movies are free and full details on the upcoming shows can be found on the chamber website.
