Jen Lima, whose son Justin O'Connor was good friends with Kevin Lorenz, said she burst into tears when she found a cross carved into the stump of the tree where 26-year-old Lorenz died in a motorcycle accident on June 5, 2015. The tree was near the entrance to Goddard Park on Ives Road and had to be cut down in October because of rot. Lima posted a picture of the cross on Facebook and was amazed by the shares and likes. “I think it really struck a chord with people, that somebody would take the time to do such a simple gesture, but such a sweet thing to do," she said.
