Some Irish warmth on a cold march
Fast footwork to stay warm: Members of the Damhsa Irish Dance Studio in Warwick entertained a chilly crowd Sunday at the 58th St. Patrick Day parade sponsored by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in West Warwick.
LEADING A PARADE: Maureen Connell carries the banner to lead off Sunday’s St. Patrick Day parade in West Warwick. Marchers moved briskly to keep warm during a sub-freezing sunny day.
STAYING WARM: A couple of spectators found an ideal place from which to view the line of march.
COLOR GUARD: The Rhode Island State Police carried flags for the parade.
IRISH EYES: Lakiah Blake of Coventry was warmly dressed for the parade. She also wore a big smile.
SHE WORE EARMUFFS: Cranston Senator Hannah Gallo, grand marshal, went without a hat but wisely wore earmuffs. She could still hear the cheers, however.
