The temperamental days of spring are soon behind us, and we can finally think about SUMMER! Summer is time for sunshine, play, exercise and creativity. Schedules relax a bit as school ends, and days of fun are planned and highly anticipated. Parents everywhere have figured out that time spent with friends and engaged in activity is the best way to spend those lazy, hazy days of summer ~ and this is exactly what they will find at all three of the To The Pointe of Performing Arts studios. Enrollment in classes has already begun for the many summer dance camps now available, so don't delay – sign up today.
To The Pointe of Performing Arts studios, located in Cranston, North Providence and Coventry, are the lifelong passion of owner Sheri Masiello. Masiello has been dancing since she was a child, and knows that dance is meant to be joyful, confidence-building and health-promoting. Because she believes that dance is about expression, movement and creativity, the dancers here do not participate in competitions, but rather focus on showcasing their many talents and celebrating their progress.
To The Pointe of Performing Arts studios are welcoming, bustling and affirming places to be for dancers from ages 18 months through adulthood. Classes are taught here in all styles of dance, from ballet to tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary. There are even Zumba classes held here to help with bathing suit season.
Sheri and her talented team of instructors have created a schedule of camp programs that are filled with lots of fun and laughter, as well as plenty of dance. Children ages three years and older are divided by age into groups and are taught by To The Pointe instructors, all of whom are experienced, supportive and trained teachers. The camps are not intended to be a place to babysit your child. They are filled with planned activities that include not only music and dance, but also arts & crafts projects that relate to the week's special theme (such as "Frozen" and "Teen Beach Movie" weeks), healthy snacks and a mini-recital performed at week's end. For older, more serious dancers, there is even a three-day intensive "So You Think You Can Dance" session.
Classes are held in air conditioned rooms and programs are available for full or half day options. Discounted rates apply for siblings and if your child is enrolled in multiple classes or camp sessions. Dance classes also continue here all summer.
To The Pointe of Performing Arts studios are located on 999 Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston, on 1525 Smith Street in North Providence, and on 2435 Nooseneck Hill Rd. in Coventry.
