(Delightful cartoon sequel)

Sitting in front of us at the matinee was a 4-year-old with a Woody hat and doll, thoroughly engrossed in the movie, as were the other kids (and parents) at the Warwick Mall Showcase.

The continuing saga of Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and the other toys continues to delight audiences with its interesting characters, action and positive messages. This year a spork (cross between a spoon and a fork for the uninitiated) joins the toys after he his convinced that he is not trash but a lovable toy.

Woody's new child, Bonnie, has created Sporky on her first day at kindergarten. Woody feels responsible for his new human, as Andy has gone off to live his adult life. Sporky keeps getting lost and eventually kidnapped by some nasty dummies and their seemingly sweet doll. During the search for Sporky, Woody runs into his old love, Bo Peep (Annie Potts), who has changed her life and become a free spirit with no humans to be responsible for.

The family goes on an RV vacation while the toys manipulate them to help in the search for Sporky. The fun of the movie is watching the toys become inanimate objects when in view of the humans

And then there are the great messages for kids about the importance of caring and family and growing up and loyalty and following your inner voice.

There's a great ending, but don't leave (as most did) as the credits start to roll and the movie is neatly wrapped up.

Can't wait for "Toy Story 5.”

Rated G, with only those ventriloquist type dummies to scare the little ones.
