There is nothing that says fall more than wandering outside taking a deep breath of crisp air and feeling the crunch of leaves under your feet. Seeing the leaves turning beautiful colors of gold and red and the smell of spicy pumpkin in every restaurant or coffee shop you enter can be delightful.

What isn’t so nice is trying to keep the ants and bugs out that are trying to get in as they feel the impending cold weather. You can do both with essential oils. Below are some great blends. There are lots of ways to use them. To scent a room you can use them in a diffusor or in a spray bottle with about 4 oz. of water. Try these blends to bring some comfort, warmth and a burst of fall into your home.

I Want a Latte: 5 drops of cardamom, 3 drops of clove, 1 drop of ginger and 3 drops of cinnamon.

Mood Enhancer: 5 drops of sweet orange, 3 drops of cinnamon, 3 drops of rosemary, and 3 drops of eucalyptus.

Woodland Wonderland: 5 drops of frankincense, 3 drops of cedarwood and 3 drops of pine.

Spicy Cider: 5 drops of tangerine, 3 drops of cinnamon, 1 drop of clove, 1 drop of ginger.

Breath Easy: 5 drops of peppermint and 5 drops of eucalyptus. To get rid of those pesky ants, fruit flies and various bug that come marching in to get out of the cold try this.

Put 8 drops of peppermint and eucalyptus in a spray bottle and spray plants and the perimeter of your home.

Saturate a cotton ball with peppermint and eucalyptus and place outside around your home where bugs may be entering. Basement windows, garage doors and entryways are good spots.

I have been using aromatherapy as a natural way to enhance my life for years.
