On Thursday morning at 2:53am, the Warwick Police Department responded to the residence of 54 Tivoli Court for a report of a domestic disturbance involving Vinny Paz and his girlfriend.

According to a police department press release, the call to the police came in from a relative of the girlfriend, who she had contacted claiming that Vinny had just assaulted her. Upon arrival by the responding officers, they could hear Vinny shouting at someone inside. When the officers knocked on the door, the inside lights were shut off and everything went quiet. With no one answering the door or phones, the officers had to force entry into the home through the garage.

Both Vinny and the female victim were located awake inside of a bedroom. The female appeared to have sustained facial injuries that were consistent with an assault. Vinny also showed physical signs of having been involved in an altercation. The female was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Vinny Paz was taken into custody without further incident and was charged with Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Vinny was held for arraignment in Kent County District Court on March 15, 2018 at 9:00am. Vinny Paz was also be presented as a bail violator for conditions set from his January arrest in Providence for Felony Assault.

Paz, a Cranston native who went on to become a five-time champion professional boxer, pled Nolo contendere (no contest) to the charges during his hearing at Kent County District Court on Thursday morning.
