Walter F. Jackson Sr., age 87, of Young Orchard Avenue, Warwick, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Edmunds) Jackson.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Walter F. and Mildred (Burke) Jackson, he lived in Warwick for the last 54 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. Mr. Jackson was a truck driver for Hemingway Transportation for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Teamsters Local # 251.

He is survived by four daughters and a son, Judy Yglesias of Las Vegas, NV, Charlotte Jackson of Warwick, Karen L. Riley of Warwick, Walter F. Jackson, Jr. of Warwick, and Barbara Mejia of Providence; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Pamela Jackson and Kimberly Jackson; and the brother of the late Richard Jackson, Charlotte DeChristofaro, and Mildred Burke.

A committal service with military honors will be held on Monday, May 7, at 12:30 p.m. in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. (Family and friends should gather at 12:15 p.m. just inside the cemetery entrance.) www.barrettandcotter.com
