LARCENY

At approximately 1:07 p.m. on April 19, Officer Jeremy T. Smith responded to the Trader Joe’s location at 1000 Bald Hill Road for a report of a stolen wallet.

At the scene, the reporting party told Smith that someone had stolen her purse and was attempting to use her credit card at the nearby Target store. While the officer was speaking with the reporting party, she received a message from Capital One asking her to approve a $312 purchase at the Target.

Smith responded to the Target, although it was found that loss prevention was not working that day and no surveillance video was available. The Trader Joe’s also had no surveillance video available.

The reporting party completed a written statement indicating that she realized her wallet – described as a black Vera Bradley containing approximately $50 in cash, a credit card, a debit card and multiple gift cards –was missing when she went to the checkout counter at Trader Joe’s. In addition to the $312 purchase, she said, a separate charge of $946.04 at the Target was pending on the same card. The matter was forwarded to detectives.

When she returned to her vehicle just after 1 p.m., she found the front passenger-side window of her vehicle – a blue 2013 Subaru Impreza – had been smashed. Nothing was believed to be missing from the vehicle. Ulta Beauty management indicated surveillance video was not available for the parking lot. There were no suspects or witnesses.

FAKE PRESCRIPTION

At approximately 1:05 a.m. on April 26, Officer Randy S. Bell responded to the CVS location at 767 Warwick Ave. for a report of a woman attempting to fill a fake prescription.

At the scene, Bell made contact with the pharmacist, who indicated that the woman dropped off the prescription at approximately 12:50 a.m. When the pharmacist told the woman he was having problems filling the prescription, the woman is said to have said she would go elsewhere and left without taking the prescription back. CVS provided surveillance video that showed the woman, and the fake prescription was placed into evidence.
