SHOPLIFTING

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, Detective Adam C. Arico responded to the Target location at Warwick Mall for a report of a shoplifting incident in progress. Dispatch subsequently advised that loss prevention personnel had a male suspect in custody.

At the scene, a loss prevention associate told Arico that the suspect had been observed concealing nine ink cartridges – with a combined value of nearly $397 – in his jacket before exiting the store without making any attempt to pay. At that point, the suspect was met by loss prevention personnel and escorted back inside the store.

Just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 13, Officer Anthony J. D’Abrosca responded to the Macy’s location at Warwick Mall for a report of a shoplifting incident. Dispatch subsequently advised that loss prevention personnel had a female suspect in custody.

At the scene, a loss prevention associate told D’Absosca that the suspect had been observed removing dresses and other clothing items from hangers and concealing them in a shopping bad. The suspect is said to have then exited the store without making any attempt to pay, at which point she was met by loss prevention personnel and escorted back inside. Six clothing items with a combined value of $494.50 were recovered.

Radhika Vora, 31, 1 Orms St., Apt. 519, Providence, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. She was later released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court.

LARCENY

Shortly after 11 a.m. on Dec. 10, Officer Michael T. Isherwood responded to the Park ‘n’ Ride at 250 Airport Road regarding a call for service.

At the scene, the reporting party told Isherwood that he had returned to the location to find his vehicle, a green 2019 Honda CR-V, with its front passenger-side window smashed and its tires and rims missing. The interior of the vehicle had been damaged as a result of heavy rain the previous night.

Additionally, several items were missing, including a Garmin GPS valued at $180, two pairs of sunglasses valued at $380 and a laptop valued at $800.

The reporting party told Isherwood he had left his vehicle at the Park ‘n’ Ride on Dec. 4. No security camera footage was immediately available.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 10, Officer Sara L. Goes responded to the LA Fitness location at 1500 Bald Hill Road for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle.

At the scene, the reporting party told Goes that the front passenger-side window of his white 2019 Honda Accord had been smashed. The vehicle’s glove box and center console were open and their respective contents were strewn about the interior.

The reporting party said he arrived at the gym at approximately 7:15 p.m. and left at approximately 8 p.m. He said a paycheck and clothing had been taken from the vehicle.

No security camera footage was available. The matter was documented.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 11, Officer Brian J. Holleran responded to a Rutherford Court home for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

At the scene, the reporting party told Holleran that she had parked her 2007 Nissan Sentra in her driverway at approximately 9 p.m. the previous night. That morning at 10 a.m., she went outside to clear snow off the vehicle and discovered it had been stolen.

The matter was documented and forwarded to detectives.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 14, Officer Evan E. Johnson responded to T.J. Maxx at 1245 Bald Hill Road for a report of a lost wallet.

At the scene, the reporting party told Johnson that she arrived at the store at approximately 6:30 p.m. and realized her wallet was missing when she went to check out at approximately 6:48 p.m. The wallet was said to contain $140 in cash, credit and debit cards, a driver’s license and a Social Security card.

The matter was documented.
