VANDALISM

On March 12 at approximately 3:22 p.m., Officer Quentin Tavares was dispatched to the Bald Hill Road Target for a malicious damage report.

At the scene he spoke with the owner of a large CAT machinery vehicle that was parked in the Target parking lot. The machine was used to plow the parking lot following snowstorms. The man stated that, upon returning to the vehicle prior to the last storm to see if the vehicle needed maintenance, he noticed that the passenger side window had been broken.

While looking around the vehicle, there were no items in the surrounding area that looked like it caused the damage. There are currently no suspects or witnesses, and a report was taken for documentation purposes.

Officer Christopher Gillis was dispatched to a Warwick Avenue residence on March 15 around 5 p.m. for a report of a larceny. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party, who informed the officer that a package she had been expecting had been delivered at approximately 9:20 that day, however the package was not on her property.

Taken was a Finding Father Christmas DVD valued at $10.44. There were no cameras in the area and there is no suspect information at this time.

STOLEN GENERATOR

Around 9:20 p.m. on March 15, Officer Melissa Pinheiro was dispatched to a residence on Atlantic Avenue for a report of a stolen generator. At the residence he met with the complainant, who stated that he last saw his Troy Bilt generator in his detached garage on March 13 after he used it during a power outage. When he went to retrieve another item from the garage, he noticed that the generator-valued at $800-was missing and nothing else was touched.

No identifying marks, such as finger or footprints, were observed at the scene. There was no surveillance footage of the scene available. A check of the surrounding area also proved negative. A report was taken and forwarded to department detectives for review.

SHOPLIFTING

On March 12 at approximately 1 p.m., Officer Darren Parrillo was dispatched to the Warwick Mall in reference to a shoplifting. Prior to arrival, two female suspects involved in the incident were reported to be exiting the Food Court and had entered a vehicle with no registration on the back of the car. The car, described as a maroon Toyota, was then seen leaving the area.

At the scene Officer Parrillo met with Warwick Mall Security, who had retrieved all of the stolen merchandise due to the women suspects dropping it prior to exiting the mall. A representative from the store Pink, where the merchandise was taken from, was also on scene and said she would provide the police with a copy of the store’s surveillance footage as soon as possible.

According to the police report, the two women entered the store around 12:35 p.m. with several large bags. One woman suspect was described as African American, aged 20 to 30, who was heavyset and wearing bright pink sweatpants and a lime green tropical sweatshirt. The second suspect, also described as African American, wearing a gray sweatsuit with straight black hair and medium build. A total of $1,105 worth of merchandise was taken before it was recovered.

A report was taken and the store indicated that they would like to press charges should the suspects be found.

Officer Aaron Steere along with other members of the department responded to the Bald Hill Road Target on March 14 at approximately 2:14 p.m. for a report of an adult female shoplifter in custody.

She was stopped outside and brought back into the store where she was identified as Juanita Ramsay, 67, of 147 Longfellow Drive in Warwick.
