We say thank you!

Hello all!

I am Reeve Rapson, 5th grader at Warwick Neck School. I would like to share my speech about all of the wonderful men and women serving or retired from the United States Armed Forces.

Before I begin, I would like to mention my brother and grandpa. My brother, Tyler Rapson, is serving part-time with the Air National Guard, and my grandpa is retired from the United States Navy.

My brother works on cargo planes and their electrical systems. He is also studying to be an engineer.

I know my grandpa served bravely in the U.S. Navy, and it was definitely important to our freedom!

Those men and women often do and have done the unthinkable. They sacrificed leaving their families and being able to spend time at home, known that that there is a big chance they may not even come home someday!

Most of the soldiers and veterans here today currently have the responsibility and task of defending the land of the free and the home of the brave.

You’ve had to deal with losing comrades, but you pushed the bad away and continued to shoulder the freedom of America.

While some people may underestimate what you do, you are constantly pushing yourselves to continue protecting us and making sure U.S. citizens are safe.

Some of you have had to run into the crossfire, some of you stayed home and supported others here, and some of you fought for freedom in foreign lands. You did all of this so none of us have to live in jeopardy.

One day, I hope to join the Air Force like my brother, and serve like my grandfather. When I retire, I will join law enforcement.

So to all of the men and women with the Air Force, Coast Guard, Army, Navy and Marines, we would like to thank you for your service, and please know that America will always honor you with the greatest of gratitude and we will always salute you!
