William E. Harrop, known as “Billy” & “Joe”, age 68, of Beechcrest Street, Warwick, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Jean A. (Barlow) Harrop. They were married for 42 years.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late William E. Harrop, Jr. and Gladys L. (Fitzgerald) Harrop, he lived in Warwick since 1986. He attended the Community College of Rhode Island. Mr. Harrop was employed as a first-class maintenance machinist at the former Royal Electric in Pawtucket for over 25 years before retiring.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jenn Duehring of Easton, MA; two sisters, Dorothy M. Kopf of Narragansett and Mary-Lou Goitein of Santa Rosa, CA; nieces and nephews; and many close friends from his childhood. He was the brother of the late Edward Harrop, Richard Harrop, Lawrence Harrop, John Harrop, Donald Harrop, Kathy Gallipo, and Barbara Colangelo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, December 18, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are omitted. Kindly omit flowers.
