William J. Malo

William J. Malo, 76, a retired plant manager for Technic for over 30 years passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Broccoli) Malo for 54 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leonard M. and Catherine M. (Devine) Malo. Mr. Malo was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon retiring, he was a bus driver for First Student where he enjoyed interacting with the students, and worked on various construction jobs as an electrician and stonemason. He also served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Rose of Lima Church in Warwick, and was a member of the William Shields Post #43, DAV and AMVETS. He also enjoyed camping and hiking.

William was the loving father of William A. Malo and his wife Lee-Ann, Gina Butler and her husband Kevin, and Lori M. Trentesioux and her husband John; loving grandfather of Tyler J. Malo, Brianna M. Butler, Paige D. Malo, Danica R. Butler, David Pistorio, Robert Pistorio, and Christina Pistorio; brother of Katherine Franco, Raymond Malo, Suzanne Bouchard, Paula Pick, and the late Leonard Malo, Mary Thorpe, and Louis Malo; loving uncle of Kevin Broccoli, also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
