For those with fashion savvy, there will be fashion shows for women of all ages, including specialty attire from Garbolino and Lanzi Fur.

Everyone needs a bit of pampering today. Women will have such an opportunity at the fourth annual Southern New England Women's Expo, coming to the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Sunday, May 3.

Women of all ages can attend the expo and be entertained and educated, save money in the shopping pavilion and learn what resources are available to them to cultivate inspiring and life-changing opportunities. Last year's event brought more than 2,500 women through the doors and this year there are more surprises in store for those who attend.

“The Southern New England Women's Expo is truly a "feel-good" day for women,” said Pat Paolino Cruz, a Cranston resident and co-producer of the day long event. “The Expo provides that perfect time to bond with friends, moms, daughters and just have fun.”

For only $10 at the door (discount coupons are available from participating vendors or online), attendees will be entertained for an entire day. With more than 100 exhibitors to be showcased, women can spend the day attending demonstrations, seminars and see the scheduled fashion shows throughout the day.

“In today's economy, maximizing marketing dollars is a big concern. Women are considered powerful consumers and account for over 7 billion in sales per year,” said Cruz. “Women are information driven and shop for themselves, families, children, businesses and employers.”

For culinary delights there will be cooking demonstrations with local top chefs from restaurants such as Aspire, Capitol Grille, Zooma and 1149, as well as wine tasting from Newport Vineyards. For those with fashion savvy there will be fashion shows for women of all ages, including specialty attire from Garbolino and Lanzi Fur. Women can also get a free makeover, manicure, pedicure, massage or spa service from one of the beauty exhibitors, as well as visit the Special Beauty Pavilion sponsored by Salon Lux.

Also at the expo, women will have the opportunity to attend informative seminars that offer advice on health, beauty, fashion, organizing and how to live a more-fulfilled, less-stressed life. Just one of the featured guest speakers is Lauren Lake, whose latest book, “Girl, Let Me Tell You,” is rising to the top of the charts. Lake is a multi-faceted television personality and the host of HGTV’s hit homemaker show.

“We want women to realize that in the 365 days a year that they take care of everyone else; this is a day to take care of themselves,” said Cruz. “We not only want to provide a great day for women but a great day for our participating [mostly local] businesses.”

Besides celebrity speakers and guest chefs, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the hosts of the Fox hit “The Rhode Show,” Miss RI USA, Miss RI Teen USA, Mrs. RI America, Mrs. NH America, Miss RI International and Miss RI Teen International.

Throughout the day there will also be prize giveaways and exclusive show discounts offered by many of the exhibitors including a grand prize valued at $15,000 from RI Kitchen and Bath.

Doors will open promptly at 10 a.m. and those who are interested in getting a discount coupon can visit the Southern New England Women’s Expo Web site at www.southernnewenglandwomensexpo.com.
