Founder of Elite Physical Therapy receives URI achievement award

Michael Nula, owner of Elite Physical Therapy in Rhode Island has been awarded the 2009 Physical Therapy Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Rhode Island Physical Therapy Department.
The University of Rhode Island Physical Therapy program has been in existence for 20 years and has graduated approximately 400 Physical Therapists in that time.
Nula founded Elite Physical Therapy in Rhode Island in 2002 that provides a unique treatment model that specializes in one-on-one, physical therapist-only physical therapy. Elite has office locations in Warwick, Providence, and Coventry.
Nula is the first physical therapy alumnus to establish an endowment to the University’s Physical Therapy department, which contributes to its ongoing growth and development.
Nula, a former Rhode Island High School science teacher at Saint Raphael Academy and Portsmouth Abbey, utilizes his past teaching experience regularly. Elite is credentialed with more than 20 physical therapy graduate schools nationwide, and enable soon-to-be physical therapists each year to complete internship training.
Nula has a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, and is completing his doctoral degree at Temple University in December 2009. He is a member of the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
