Steven D. Robinson

RIPTA supervisor

Steven D. Robinson, 59, of Western Hills Ln., passed away September 8, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rita L. (Stockly) Robinson. Born in Providence, he was a son of Donald E. and Marilyn (Hughes) Robinson of East Greenwich and had lived in East Greenwich and Warwick before moving to Cranston. Steve worked as a supervisor for RIPTA for the past 36 years. Steve graduated from East Greenwich High School and CCRI. He was a member of Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, served on the trustees and tended to the community garden that grows food for the church’s food pantry. Besides his parents he leaves a daughter, Stephanie L. LeFrancois and her husband, Andrew II, of Warwick; two grandsons, Andrew III and Joseph LeFrancois; two brothers, Gary E. Robinson of Leicester, Mass. and Clifford A. Robinson of East Providence; a niece, four nephews and cousins, his fiancée, Gisele LeFrancois, three stepsons, Edward and Todd Zaborski and Richard Levin; and three step-grandchildren, Cassandra, Loston and Annabelle. A memorial service was held Sept. 12 in Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church, corner of Scituate Ave. and Seven Mile Rd., Scituate.
