Managing child medication topic of Sargent Center workshop

Sargent Rehabilitation Center will hold a ‘Link to Learning’ parent workshop on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Center, 800 Quaker Lane, Warwick. The topic is “Managing the Medication Needs of Children” and the speaker is Daniel Marwil, MD of Governor Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Providence. This workshop will address pharmacological issues that impact children who are taking medications for sleep, mood and attention issues. Dr. Marwil will provide a brief description of each category of medication with an opportunity for questions from parents. Sargent Center’s monthly ‘Link to Learning’ workshops are geared for parents of children with disabilities and are free of charge. Parents should register on the Center’s Link Line at 886-6612 as seating is limited.
