Importance of sleep topic of Sargent Center workshop

Sargent Rehabilitation Center will hold a Link to Learning parent workshop on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Center, 800 Quaker Lane, Warwick.

The topic is The Importance of Sleep to the Developing Brain and the speaker is Judith Owens, MD, pediatrician and director of the Pediatric Sleep Disorders Clinic and the Learning, Attention and Behavior Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. This workshop will address the importance of sleep in children. Dr. Owens will cover how sleep disorders impact functioning in children and discuss the ways that sleep optimizes mood, learning and behavior across childhood. Sargent Center’s monthly Link to Learning workshops are geared for parents of children with disabilities and are free of charge. Parents should register on the Centers Link Line at 886-6612 as seating is limited.
