I think that RI has made some good strides in easing homelessness. We have more jobs in 2020 than we did in 2010. We have more access to programs than ever before. We also have a problem with drugs and mental illness that keeps young people on the streets. BHLink is helping in that area and the state is realizing the huge opioid problem as well. The cities and towns have to do a better job of getting the people out of places like the woods behind CCRI and off every single street light and traffic corner. Every dollar they are given there, means they are not going to be looking for legitimate work and climb out of the hole. Much has been done, more has to be done yet to reach them.
