Christine (Martucci) Abatiello, 74, of Haley Road, Warwick, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the West Shore Health Center in Warwick after a heroic battle with ALS. She was the former wife of Jerry Abatiello of (Montgomery, Alabama). Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Theresa (Ferrelli) Martucci.
She was a lifelong resident of Warwick and graduate of Pilgrim High School. Chris had an amazing career at Rhode Island Hospital for over 41 years. An avid reader, animal lover, shoe and purse fanatic, Chris’ family was her greatest joy, especially her granddaughter. Chris made a point of living life to the fullest, even more so after her diagnosis, never taking a moment for granted. This was evident when she was given the opportunity of a lifetime by TLC 4 LTC and the West Shore Health Center to go on a helicopter ride and aerial tour of Newport. A bucket list moment as she put it rounded out with a chance to be on television and her first Haven Brothers burger.
Chris was known for her kindness, compassion, unwavering love, contagious laugh and sense of humor. She was loved by so many and the void she left will never be filled.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer D. Muccio and her husband Ernest of Warwick and her granddaughter Olivia, as well as her brother, John S. Martucci, Jr. and his wife Alicia of Warwick.
