Griffin Crain wrapped up one of the best baseball careers in state history by guiding the Hawks back to the state championship in June. Crain was not only Hendricken’s ace on the mound, but he was also its most consistent contributor at the plate. The highlight of the season came when he knocked in the walk-off game-winner in Game 1 of the state title series, and then he earned the complete game win in Game 2. He finished the year by taking home Gatorade Player of the Year honors.

The Hendricken swim team’s historic run came to a brief end, as the Hawks rebounded this past winter to reclaim the state title. Tristan Jordan paced the team at states, helping the relay team win the 200 while finishing second in the 50 and third in the 100.
Freshman Allison Patten made some serious noise this past wrestling season for the Pats. Not only did she win the state title in the inaugural girls event in the 100-pound weight class, she was also the only female competitor in the state to qualify for the boys side.

Oscar Weah was arguably the state’s best running back last football season, finishing the year with more than 1,000 all purpose yards while racking up nine touchdowns. He was electric in the team’s 35-7 thumping of North Kingstown in the state championship, rushing for nearly 200 yards to go along with a pair of touchdowns.

Adeline Areson completed the best season in program history this past winter. Areson returned from a knee injury and surged back as the team’s leading scorer, then leading the way in a huge fourth-quarter comeback in the state finals where she hit two 3-pointers in the final minutes to hand the Titans their first title since 1983. She finished the finals with 18 points and earned All-Division honors.

Ryan Barlow’s leadership was on full display throughout the 2024 season. Not only was he near the top of all scoring categories for Pilgrim, he steered the ship when the Pats dealt with injuries, including a midseason stretch without Pilgrim’s all-time scorer Braxton Bragg. The team featured a new lineup this year, but Barlow’s guidance helped send Pilgrim back to the DII title game.
