Robert William Benoit, age 59, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Born in Boston, MA, and raised in Warwick, RI, he was the beloved son of the late John Claude and Alice Isabel (MacInnis) Benoit.
Bob proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for six years before being honorably discharged in December 1989. Following military service, he returned to Rhode Island to work for the City of Warwick as a Heavy Equipment Operator, retiring after 26 years as the Highway Chief. Bob was currently working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Wilco Corporation.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Elizabeth Benoit of Warwick and four siblings, John D. Benoit of Gulf Shores, AL, Jean M. Giesswein of Mechanicsburg, PA, David S. Benoit of South Attleboro, MA, and Michelle A. Benoit of Foster, RI; and former wife, Pamela A. (Iadeluca) Benoit and many nieces and nephews. Bob was also the cherished brother of the late Susanne M. Benoit of Cranston.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 1-4pm, with a funeral service to follow at 4pm, in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick.
