Clean out your closet for a cause. Fifth Graders of Hoxsie Elementary are holding a drive-thru clothing donation drive fundraiser at the Pilgrim Senior Center on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, or household textiles will be accepted. The Providence Northern Model Railroad Club will be hosting their annual two days open house on Dec. 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be taking place at 1175 West Shore Road in Warwick and there is a suggested donation of $2 for adults, a $5 maximum for families and free for children 12 and under. They are currently building a HO scale layout that is based on the New England area in 1985 from Providence to Northern Vermont and reaching Montreal Canada. The Tri-City Elks #14 annual toy drive will be taking place on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 7 to 11 p.m. at 1915 West Shore Road Warwick. There will be music by STRUMDAWGS and a buffet will be included with a donation of a new unwrapped toy and non-perishable food item. Donations of toys and food can also be made at the lodge through Dec. 11. The business hours for the Elk Lodge are Monday thru Thursday starting at 3 p.m. and Friday thru Sunday at 12 p.m. The toy drive will help local children in the community.
Come join the “Rocky Point Pacers” for a walk around Rocky Point every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9am, weather permitting. We meet at the gate on Rocky Point Ave. Get some sunshine and burn off some holiday pounds!
West Bay Anglers will hold a meat and lobster raffle every Saturday starting Nov. 6 through March 2022 at the Warwick Firemen’s Association 750 Warwick Ave., Warwick starting at 1 p.m. Prizes include money, lobster, meats and appliances. One hundred percent of the profits will go to the to the impossible Dream, Veteran Angler Charters and Dare To Dream Ranch.

Meals on Wheels of RI is in immediate need of volunteers for its Home-Delivered Meal Program in Warwick. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The program helps homebound seniors remain healthy, safe, and happy at home. The Warwick Public Library and the RI Family Literacy Initiative host English as a Second Language (ESL) classes starting on September 20. Practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in small groups. Classes are free and meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. For more information, call (401) 455-8041.
Prepare for the U.S. Naturalization Interview with Citizen Preparation classes at the Warwick Public Library. Practice citizenship vocabulary, learn the necessary civics content, and work on interview skills using the N-400 application form. We Make RI, an organization that provides free manufacturing training, is hosting a series of job fairs every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their offices at 200 First Avenue in Cranston. We Make RI offers job seekers a chance to meet with employers, get career counseling, resume help, and more. NAMI Family-to-Family is a free 8-session educational program for families, significant others, and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidencedbased program.
