SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 12:07 a.m., May 5, Cranston Police Officers arrested Richard Johnson, 53, of 30 Howard Ave., Cranston, for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault. The arrest was the result of a call for service at the Classic Laundromat, at 1116 Cranston St., according to the Cranston Police Department’s online arrest log. According to police, Johnston was awaiting arraignment.


DOMESTIC SIMPLE ASSAULT

At 2:38 a.m., May 4, Cranston Police Officers arrested Molley O’Neil, 28, and Andrew Lebron, 29, of 1586 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, charging both for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct. According to police, the arrest was the result of a call for a disturbance at O’Neil’s and Lebron’s address. Police said O’Neil was held overnight as a violator, and Lebron was held for morning arraignment.

SHOPLIFTING

At 7:52 p.m., May 3, Cranston Police Officers arrested Cynthia Mclintock, 37, of 246 Manton St., No. 6, Pawtucket, for Shoplifting and Willful Trespass. The arrest was the result of a call for service at Walmart, 1776 Plainfield Pike. According to police, Mclintock was awaiting arraignment.


FLOCK HIT

At 6:06 p.m., May 2, Cranston Police Officers arrested Christopher Vierra, 51, of 94 Daboll St., Providence, for Shoplifting as a result of a Flock Hit and subsequent stop on Garfield Ave. Vierra was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, according to police.


SHOPLIFTING

At 7:52 p.m., May 2, Cranston Police Officers arrested Stephanie Dowling, 41, of 187 York Town Road, North Kingstown, for Shoplifting as a result of a larceny complaint at Marhsall’s Department Store, 1355 Oaklawn Ave. According to police, Dowling was transported to Women’s Intake at the ACI.


DOMESTIC VANDALISM

At 4:54 a.m., May 2, Cranston Police Officers arrested George Rodriguez-Ortiz, 30, of 76 Lake St., Cranston, for Domestic Vandalism/Malicious Injury to Property and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance at the aforementioned address. He was held for court in the morning.

IDENTITY FRAUD

Around 10 a.m., May 1, Cranston Police Officers arrested Daniel Crimmins, 29, of 221 Pacific Ave., Jersey City, New Jersey, for Passing of Counterfeit Cert/Bills/Notes and Identity Fraud. The arrest was the result of a call for service at 200 Midway Road, a US Post Office.

RECKLESS DRIVING

At 10:18 a.m., May 1, Cranston Police Officers arrested Dennis Cherry, 42, of 460 Pine St., Providence, for Reckless Driving, Resisting Legal or Illegal Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of a suspicious activity incident in the area of Union Ave.

OBSTRUCTION

Around 10:18 a.m., May 1, Cranston Police Officers arrested Vanessa Viveiros, 36, of 36 Sandy Way Cumberland, for Obstructing An Officer in Execution of Duty. The arrest was the result of a suspicious activity incident in the area of Union Avenue, according to police.


DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Around 5:25 a.m., May 1, Cranston Police Officers arrested Jose Rivera, 43, of 194 Fortin Drive, Apt. 207, Woonsocket, for Domestic Simple Assault and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance at the Econolodge, 101 New London Ave. (Apt. 134). He was held for court in the morning.


DUI

Around 3:19 p.m., April 30, Cranston Police Officers arrested Kyle P. Dias, 33, of 175 Aberdeen St., Apt. A, Fall River, Massachusetts, for one count of Driving Under the Influence (BAC Unknown, 1st Offense). The arrest was the result of the motor vehicle accident investigation in the area of New London Avenue and Reservoir Avenue. He was issued a 3rd District Court summons and transported to Hospital, according to police.


NO LICENSE

Around 2:46 a.m., April 1, Sgt. Aaron C. Kay was on patrol in an unmarked cruiser traveling west on Toll Gate Road near the intersection with Bald Hill Road when he spotted a grey Honda Accord pass by.

The driver allegedly held a “cell phone in his right hand, holding it up to his right ear,” according to the arrest report.

“I began traveling along side the vehicle, as it was still traveling in the right northbound lane,” Kay wrote in the report. “I observed the operator to still be on his cell phone, speaking into it while traveling.”

Kay initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Timothy A. Carlos, 32, of 6104 Scituate Vista Drive, Cranston. Carlos told Kay he was talking to his mother on the phone.

Carlos told police that he did not have a driver’s license or active registration.

“It was determined that Carlos did have a suspended license with several prior offenses,” Kay wrote. “He also had two active bench warrants for driving without a license.”

The driver’s mother responded to the scene to take custody of the vehicle. Carlos was arrested and transported to Warwick Police Headquarters. He was charged with Driving with a Suspended License (fourth offense), a misdemeanor. He also received a citation for Mobile Cell Phone Usage Operator.

Carlos was later transported to the ACI and turned over to DOC custody.
