(No pre-registration for the groups is necessary)

The Rhode Island chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is pleased to offer both in-person and virtual family support groups. These are monthly groups for families, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. NAMI support groups are free, confidential, peer-led, and offer participants the opportunity to share their experiences and gain support from other attendees. Groups are led by trained facilitators who also have lived experience as family members themselves. The group meetings last about 90 minutes and everyone who participates in the meeting gets a chance to share. By sharing your experiences in a safe setting, you can gain hope and develop supportive relationships. The groups allow your voice to be heard and provide opportunities for your personal needs to be met. They encourage empathy, productive discussion, and a sense of community. You'll benefit from others' experiences, discover your inner strength, and empower yourself by sharing your own experiences in a non-judgmental space.
