The Bishop Hendricken golf team cruised past Pilgrim and Toll Gate in a match last week, shooting a score of 142 while Pilgrim shot 167 and Toll Gate 179.

Hendricken’s Andrew Chadwick and Gianni Fontenault led the way with scores of 34 while Brady Williams shot a 35 and Thomas Hanson 39. Michael Pezzullo finished at 40 while freshman Griffin Cooper shot a 43 for the Hawks.

Lucas Hemond led the Pats with a team-low score of 39, followed by Rich Cavanagh and Jackson Bromage with scores of 41. Lily Howard shot a 46 while Devin Stevens finished at 48 for Pilgrim. Grace Schenck rounded things out with a 51.

Ryan Dacey impressed for Toll Gate with a team-low score of 36. Brodie Marinelli finished with a 45, followed by Jacob Pella and Riley Giroux with 49. Jodeci Birkenfeld finished at 69 and Bryan Tombs 70.

Hendricken also hosted its annual invitational last week as well and a handful of locals made the trip to the Warwick Country Club to take part.

Chadwick had another big outing, tying for fifth overall with a score of 74 (5 over) with Dacey for Toll Gate. Williams tied for 22nd with a score of 78 while Hemond tied for 37th at 79, and Fontenault 40th with a 79.

The Hendricken Invitational hosted schools throughout the northeast, including schools from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York. For more photos of the action, check out page 24.
