The Hope Alzheimer’s Center, which many people will attest is one of Cranston’s most cherished and important facilities, once again entered Rhode Island’s sports scene back on June 24.

Which explains why Ken Hopkins, a Johnston native and currently Cranston’s popular mayor, was among the many people who showed up to tee off in the Hope Alzheimer’s Center 10th annual Golf Tournament at well-manicured Cranston Country Club.

The Hope Alzheimer’s Center, which is nicely nestled in the woods at 12 Brayton Avenue behind the City of Cranston’s much-used, well-maintained and lighted Girls Softball Complex and also serves people in Johnston as well as throughout Rhode Island, has been helping people with memory loss live happier and healthier lives since 1995.

“Today’s golf tournament will help the center raise funds for the various programs offered here at this great adult care facility,” offered Robert Civetti, a Johnston Town Councilman, long-time youth baseball coach and volunteer who serves as Hope Center’s Board Treasurer, offered. “Everyone who played in the tournament had lots of fun.”

Yet another reason for the 10th annual golf go-round success was the Hope Alzheimer’s Mission Statement that reads: “Our mission is to be a leader in fulfilling the unique needs of individuals with dementia and supporting their caregivers while optimizing each person’s independence and dignity.”

Civetti, along with Ellen Grizzetti, the President/CEO at Hope Center and other board members invited people who’d like further information to call (401) 946-9220.
