Janice Marie Morgan, 78, of Newport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Village House in Newport. Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Shanahan Morgan and Robert Powers Morgan.
Jan’s entire life was lived helping others. She first served as a teenage volunteer nurse’s aid at RI Hospital and went on to graduate from Our Lady of Fatima School of Nursing and CCRI. She served as an LPN at Fatima Hospital and as a RN at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Providence until her retirement.
She is survived by her beloved brothers, James F. Morgan of Warwick and Robert P. Morgan of St. Louis, MO and her nieces and nephews, Kathryn M. Huelsebusch, Elizabeth Hunyar, and Robert Morgan (George).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:00AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30AM-9:30AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
