The Johnston football team continues to roll as it beat Division II Lincoln 36-28 last week on the road.

The Panther offense stayed sharp and continued to use its two-quarterback system. Ethan Archambeault finished the day going 8-for-12 passing for 178 yards while Kendall Perry went 4-for-7 for 155 yards. Each signal caller also tossed a pair of touchdowns in the win.

Yadier Grullon led Johnston receivers with 137 yards on three receptions including a touchdown. Gio Celani hauled in a 47-yard touchdown, while Evan Perron also caught a 38-yard score as well. Aiden Neil got in the mix as well, scoring on a 16-yard strike.

Lyalo Harrison-Perez had a solid day, finishing with 84 yards receiving on four catches.

Mike Messina led the team on the ground, picking up 52 yards on 14 carries, while Stephen O’Brien logged 60 yards and a score rushing. Kicker Jayden Ponte converted on all four of his extra point attempts.

With the win, Johnston maintained possession of third place in the Division III standings, trailing just Classical and Ponaganset. The team will be back in action on Friday when it takes on East Greenwich at home.
