John Henry Schofield

John Henry Schofield, 64, of Warwick, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Kent Regency Center. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stanley W. Schofield, Sr. and Dorothy I. (Slaven) Schofield.
John was a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and worked for 35 years as a skilled maintenance technician and electrician for the Ann & Hope Department Stores. He loved using his expertise in electrical work to help many, many friends and family with all types of home improvement projects.
In his youth, he was a member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John in Providence and, in his later years, occasionally attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Warwick.
John was an avid music lover and true audiophile. He taught himself about all types of audio and sound reproduction equipment, keeping up with the many advances in technology over the years.  He loved experimenting with all types of amplifiers, record players, audio speakers, tape recorders, cassette, CD and MP3 players. He especially enjoyed creating special music recordings for his family and friends.
John also enjoyed photography, experimenting with various cameras and lenses to create unique and unusual photos.
He is survived by his brother, Stanley W. Schofield, Jr. (wife Joan) of Warwick, two nieces and five nephews. He was the brother of the late Leslie I. Gomes and David M. Schofield, Sr.
A Requiem Eucharist will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 10:00AM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick. Prior to the service, friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00 to 9:45AM. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston following the service and a brief reception in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church are greatly appreciated.
