Kenneth Anthony Simas (68) of Warwick, RI passed away after a long illness, surrounded by his family on December 1st, 2022.

Known by friends and loved ones as Kenny, he was born April 27th, 1954, to the late Leona Simas (White) and Antonio P. Simas (Sr).

His personality, sense of humor, laugh and mischievous nature endeared him to others. Born with Cerebral Palsy, he took life's obstacles in stride and from birth proved that he was not someone who gave in easily. In fact, he loved a good challenge or intellectual debate and had no problem sharing his opinions and views with others. He was outgoing, brave and generous and imbued his children with these values as well.

He will be dearly missed and is survived by his caring wife of 39 years Cindy Simas; beloved father of Angela Simas Melino; loving son in law Jason Melino; father figure to Sandy Harbough; baby brother of Antonio P. Simas (Jr); cherished grandchildren Layla, Jackson, Lily & Andi Melino and Jacob Harbough; favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews as well as dear brother-in-law to many. He is also survived by his longtime roommates and friends Deirdre and Harold Ball. He is recently predeceased by his beloved daughter Sarah L. Simas of Missouri and his brother William V. Simas of Providence, RI as well as his late sister Margaret E. Mackie, brother Joseph C. Simas, sister Doris A. Reis and sister Beverly Simas who died in infancy and his late beloved cocker spaniel Coffee.

Kenny retired as a Supervisor from Blue Cross Blue Shield after working there for 32 years. He was proud of his many accomplishments and keen intellect. He worked hard to maintain his independence, often reciting the lyrics to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" as his personal mantra.

Kenny was the life of the party and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and loved ones. Kenny took every opportunity to throw a party, cookout, or celebration of any kind where people could gather and share food, laughs and stories, especially the stories. Kenny took pleasure in celebrating the holidays and with childlike delight looked forward to these occasions.

Kenny touched the hearts and was an inspiration to so many people in his life and his light and love will be forever missed.
