Kenneth R. Johnson Sr. 87, a retired loan officer for Hospital Trust Bank passed away, Friday, October 10, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda D. (Josephson) Johnson for 61 years. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Frank C. Johnson Sr. and Dorothy M. (Morin) Johnson. Kenneth was the loving father of Kenneth R. Johnson Jr. (Diane) and Kristen M. DaRosa (Daniel); loving grandfather of Kenneth R. Johnson III (Alexa) and Lauren DaRosa. He was the brother of Raymond E. Johnson Sr. (Rosemary) and the late Frank C. Johnson Jr., Eugene W. Johnson, Barbara E. Cote, Dorothy M. Barber and Mildred E. Perrin.
Ken Sr. was a dedicated and active member of the RI district 3 VASA Order of America for 55 years and initiated it’s first scholarship fund in 1981. He was a past chairman of the Little Rhody VASA Park and Johan Baner Lodge. Ken was part of the first graduating class of Warwick Veteran’s High School in 1956 and also attended Bryant University. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him, and we will carry our fondest memories of him in our hearts forever.
His visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, from 4-7pm with a service at 7pm in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Little Rhody VASA Park c/o Kelly Gomez, 58 Forest Ave 1st Floor, Cumberland, RI 02864 or VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
