Marian C. Corning

Marian C. Corning, age 93, died on June 19, 2022, at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick.  She was the wife of the late Daniel A Corning Sr. for 66 years.
Born in Providence, the daughter of late Gertrude and Archibald Getchell, she was a Warwick resident since 1959.  During her later years, she was resident Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown, where she spent many days outdoors enjoying the sunshine and views of Narragansett Bay.
Marian loved traveling with her husband. She travelled not only within the USA, but also had memorable trips to South Africa, England, and France.  It is appropriate that for many years she had the pleasure of working at the T.F. Green Airport gift shop.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Corning Jr. (Carol) of North Kingstown, and two daughters, Susan Corning (Andrew) of Uzès, France and Robin Corning of Bradenton, Florida and two grandchildren, Austin Pena (Chelsea) of Kennesaw, GA and Erika Pena (Joseph) of Aurora, CO. She was the sister of the late Linwood Getchell.  She was also a “sister-in-heart” to the late Carol Parker, together sharing special moments and laughter as they navigated the joys and challenges of raising their neighbouring families, the members of which remain close to this day.
A special thanks to Janice & Mike Rainone and Pat & Steve Parker for your support and love. Thank you to Scalabrini Villa caregivers, Ana, Anne Marie and Wenli for your kindness. Thank you to the KCMH staff for your compassion.
Her funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
