Mark S. Titus, age 74, retired Deputy Chief of the Warwick Police Department, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Frederick W. and Alice G. (McRae) Titus, he was a life-long Warwick resident.  He earned a bachelor’s degree at Norwich University in Northfield, VT, and a master’s degree from Springfield College in Springfield, MA.  He served in the U.S. Army, with the military police, from 1971-1974.

Mr. Titus served on the Warwick Police Department for 35 years, retiring as Deputy Chief in 2010. 

He is survived by two nieces, Sara H. Skelly and her husband Christopher, of Chicago, Illinois, and Alison R. Harden and her husband John, of Manchester, MA; a grandniece and three grandnephews, Jackson Skelly, Caroline Skelly, Madoc Harden, and Grayson Harden; and his sister-in-law, Susan B. Titus of Boston, MA.  He was the brother of the late Alan R. Titus.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 20, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 19, from 4 - 7 p.m.  Burial will be at a later date in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
