Gary Allan Neirinckx, at the age of 66, left this world unexpectedly on January 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy.
Gary was a man whose life revolved around family. He was the devoted husband of the late Pamela (Paskin) Neirinckx, a love story that endured beyond their time together.
As a father, Gary was a steadfast guide and source of unconditional love to Kristin Neirinckx, Nicole (Neirinckx) Halton, and Benjamin Neirinckx. To his grandchildren — Maximus, Abbey, Samuel, Noah, Lucas, Grant, Elliot, and Siena — he was more than a grandfather; he was their proud “Pop,” a constant cheerleader and a grounding presence in their lives.
As the son of the late Roland and Barbara (McKay) Neirinckx, Gary grew up in Cranston alongside siblings Roland Neirinckx, Donna (Neirinckx) Spencer, and Kimberly (Neirinckx) Thayer. The bonds they shared as adults were strong and enduring, with each often turning to Gary first for advice, valuing his wisdom and steady presence in their lives.
Gary dedicated many years to the Post Office, a career that reflected his tireless work ethic and reliability. The true highlights of Gary’s life were the moments he shared with loved ones and his time in nature. Whether walking with his loyal dogs along the beach, enjoying a round of golf with friends, or exploring the great outdoors, Gary found joy in life’s simplest and most beautiful experiences. A devoted sports fan, he remained a lifelong supporter of all the New England teams, always cheering them on with pride.
Those who knew Gary remember his larger-than-life personality, his gregarious nature, and his reassuring presence. He could talk to and make friends with anyone, and his love of life was infectious. Gary’s ability to connect deeply with others led him to officiate many weddings for his loved ones. He was always ready to try something new, whether it was hiking a new trail, riding roller coasters with his grandkids, or embarking on an impromptu adventure. When challenges arose, his words brought solace and strength to those around him.
Gary’s pride in his grandchildren was boundless. Whether celebrating their milestones, cheering them on from the sidelines at sporting events, helping his grandson get his driver’s license and master parallel parking, or guiding his granddaughter through her high school applications while sending her motivational books, he celebrated each of them with a heart full of love and an unwavering commitment to their success. His encouragement and joy in their accomplishments were a testament to his enduring belief in each grandchild’s unique abilities and potential.
Optimistic and forward-looking, Gary embraced life with a heart full of hope and a spirit of adventure. His warmth and strength left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He taught us all the importance of family, the beauty of nature, and the power of perseverance.
As we say goodbye to Gary, may we find comfort in the love he so freely gave and the lessons he imparted. His legacy of resilience and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Rest peacefully, Gary, knowing you will always be remembered with love and gratitude.
