Madeline Ann O’Neill, 85, of Warwick, RI passed away peacefully, at home with family on February 3, 2025. She was born in Pawtucket, RI to William and Madeline (Martel) O’Neill.
Madeline graduated from RI College of Education in 1960 with a Bachelor of Education and worked as a schoolteacher for over 30 years, retiring from the Warwick School System in 1994.
Madeline married Wilbert Fritz in 1959, and had two children, Carol A. Fritz of Mechanicsville, VA and Carl W. Fritz of Attleboro, MA.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, walking along the beach, and spending time at home on Apponaug Cove watching sunsets, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her ex-husband Wilbert Fritz; her daughter, Carol Fritz, son, Carl Fritz and his wife, Lauri Cody, grandchildren Hanna, Nicholas and XinLing Fritz and several nieces and nephews. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William O’Neill, and her sister, Mary Jane Corcoran.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Friday, February 7, 2025, in St Rose & Clement Parish, 111 Long St, Warwick. Her visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
Her burial, with committal prayers, will take place in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Cumberland, RI on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
