ARTICLE I
IN GENERAL

AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT CONTRACTS SUBMITTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR RATIFICATION  TO BE PRESENTED WITH COMPLETE DRAFTS IN CLEAN AND REDLINED FORMATS

Be it ordained by the City of Warwick:

Section I: Chapter 2, Article I of the City of Warwick Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 2-18. Ratification of collective bargaining agreements.

(a) No collective bargaining agreement between the City of Warwick and any labor organization shall become effective unless and until ratified by the Warwick City Council.

(b) Each contract, before submission to the city council, shall contain a fiscal note, a clean draft of the complete contract, and a redlined draft of the complete contract showing the changes to the most recent contract in effect with deleted language appearing in Red Color with Strikethrough, and new language appearing Blue Color with Underline.

(c) At least one public hearing shall be held prior to city council ratification of any collective bargaining agreement.

(d) At least fourteen (14) days prior to ratification of a collective bargaining agreement by the city council, the mayor shall submit to each member of the city council the contract, fiscal note, and any documentation required or intended to be presented as part of the ratification process.

Section II: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication as prescribed by law.
