The Pilgrim Parent Teacher Student Association recently held its annual Gerald Habershaw Scholarship cornhole tournament. Winners were Jay Almeida and Brian Gallucci. The second place team was Bob Fratus and Danny Wallentin.
The Pilgrim PTSA said in a statement, “The Pilgrim High School PTSA Gerald Habershaw Memorial Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who are planning to attend trade school, 2 year college or 4 year college and who have demonstrated their ability to overcome academic hardships and move past them to graduate and further their education. Mr. Habershaw was a dedicated educator, coach and mentor who saw the good in every student he encountered and helped them to achieve what others considered unachievable. He made underachievers overachievers and he made overachievers the best. A champion for students. He supports and was proud of them all. This scholarship embodies his philosophy and will ensure his legacy continues to live on. This scholarship is not possible without your generous donations and we thank each and every person who helped keep Mr. Habershaw’s legacy going.”
Donations can be made at https://pilgrimptsa.memberhub.com/store/items/668334 or a check can be made out to Habershaw Scholarship and mailed to Pilgrim PTSA at 111 Pilgrim Parkway. Warwick, RI 02888.
