DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE & DRUG POSSESSION

On Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m. an officer observed a black Chevrolet “traveling westbound on Elm Street and fail to stop at the stop sign while turning right on Merino Avenue,” according to police. The officer then initiated a motor vehicle stop.

The operator, identified as Stacey Clayton, 37, of 87 Rosa Parks Road, Charlton, Georgia, stated that she did not have an active driver’s license.

According to police, “communications personnel discovered that Clayton had a full extradition warrant out of Charlton County, Georgia for Probation Violation — Dangerous Drugs,” and a limited extradition warrant from the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of Cocaine, Meth, and Marijuana with Intent to distribute.

Police arrested Clayton on the warrants and transported her back to headquarters. She was issued an RITT Summons for Obedience to Stop Sign and Driving Without License.

The front passenger, identified as Anthony Jackson, 52, of 15041 Woodrich Bend Ct., Fort Meyers, Florida, had an inactive Florida driver’s license. The officer conducted a Terry pat on Jackson and found a bag filled with “a white powdery substance that was consistent with crack cocaine,” according to police. The officer then found a second bag with multiple colorful pills, which Jackson stated were “crack” and “X.”

Jackson was transported to headquarters for processing and charged with Manufacturing/Possession/Delivery Schedule I/II (Over 10 Grams) and Possession of Schedule I-V (Under 10 Grams).

DUI

On Nov. 22 at 12:59 p.m., police responded to the area of Greenville Avenue at Lee Street for a report of a three-car motor vehicle accident. The operator of the first vehicle, identified as Desiree Florez, 42, of 30 Dickinson Ave., North Providence, told police that she had chest pains as the Johnston Fire Department was asked to respond to the scene.

A witness approached police and said he had taken the keys out of Florez’s car as she was attempting to flee the scene.

Another witness on the scene stated that Florez’s car was “stopped in the middle of the intersection of Greenville Avenue and Killingly Street obstructing traffic, as the sedan then traveled through the intersection several seconds later and into oncoming traffic which caused the accident,” according to police.

When approaching Florez, an officer smelled alcohol emanating from the interior of the car as well as Florez’s breath. The officer observed Florez to have watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

Officers located an open and emptied bottle of Bacardi on the floor of the passenger seat cabin, a second full bottle of Bacardi with a broken seat, and a spilled Coca Cola bottle that smelled of alcohol. Florez consented to a series of standardized field sobriety tests.

Florez was issued a 3rd District Court summons for DUI BAC Unknown — 1st Offense and RITT Summons for Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test, Operate Vehicle with Unsealed Alcoholic Beverage — 1st Offense, and License to Be Carried and Exhibited on Demand.

According to the witness, the suspects stole an estimated $700 worth of meat, baby diapers, wipes, and hair products.

On Nov. 24 at 8:10 p.m., police responded to the Smithfield Police Station to transport the suspects, identified as Jada Milburn, 34, of Marlborough, and Calondra Leporacci, 24, of Johnston, who were arrested on an active warrant from the Johnston Police Department.
